1999 EG Carbed Twin Cam not starting
Hello All, I have a 1999 HD EG STD carburated model, recently changed the spark plugs, the next day it would not start, Change the ignition coil, bike ran for a 30 mile ride, next day would not start, turns over have spark and gas, but would not start. Reeplace the 7 year old battery with new Harley Battery, started the bike 4 or 5 time, everything was great, next day took bike to work fine, went to leave work bike started, then died, tried starting again and dead. No engine codes or lights on, replace new NGK Spark plugs with new NGK Plugs thinking I had a bad batch of spark plugs (read in another thread) anyway not sure what to do or where to look. Thinking of taking carb off and inspecting, any help would be great. I assume if my cam postion sensor or MAP sensor was bad would throw a code. But no engine light is on. Checked kill switch and thats good

I just picked up a new one from the local Harley dealer only to notice the japanese manufacturers name TAIYO GIKEN Amazon has another brand for about $ 40 I paid $ 125. I am a fan of the diaphgram The Pingle unit with the diaphragm was $ 276.00 of J & P Cycles.
Well just need to drain gas, go through Carb and should hopefully be good to go. I think the Screen most likely disinigrated and I have plastic spuraticaly clogging carb thats why she wasnt firing either way 23 years is a long time.
Thanks everyone for your input, will make finally post after tomorrow

So when you drain the tank, look for the gray matter stuck on the filter. Could it be possible the tank liner is failing and clogging the filter?
You can test the diaphragm with a syringe and a piece of 1/4” drip line tube. Divert the tank fuel with a piece of fuel line into a gas can. Remove the vacuum hose on the fuel valve. Push the drip line hose onto the petcock vacuum port and just give a slight pull on the syringe to create a vacuum and it should flow into the can. If you’re gonna do it, be sure to study up on carb removal, and don’t break that frikkin plastic linkage elbow on the accelerator pump.
However, djl makes a good observation with the crank position sensor.
