Default Dyna2000i

So after 2.5 years, I'm finally almost ready to kick my chop over for the first time.

I swapped out the stock ignition system (OEM '84 FXE Shovel) and installed a Dyna2000i. I've been told that from factory, they come stock with 3 dead revs and if I wanted to program it to 0 I'd have to take to to someone with the hookup or buy one to change it out.

Is this correct? Thanks.

YES that is correct. Send it back or trade it out for a DYNA S Dual Fire. Used OEM advance unit and gives PERFECT ADVANCE CURVE! Static and Dynamic time it button up the cover and forget it. Problem is finding someone that can program it for 0 revs is like looking for a needle in a hey stack.

The last 2000i that I got was set to zero.. For a big motor I had to set it to 1.. Personally I'd take the 2000i over the S because the advance is done digitally and can be programmed.. No worry about advance springs getting weak or advance sticking..

I bought the 2000i a while ago, so I'll stick with it instead of going another route. I watched a video last night and it looks pretty simple. I'd just buy the module and I can do it myself. Thanks.

I had to do this with my shovel. Very easy. I think the module cost me 60 bucks or so.
