I have a 1985 HD FXRS, with a cat squasher set up.
I have been looking for wheels/tires to put on it; specifically wheels.
Can't seem to find a wheel for my front. They don't seem to be wide enough? Not sure of the width, as I am away from home for work.
I have dunlop d402r's on em. MT90R16 is what is says on the tires. I was just gonna get the same tires again.
what am I looking for, when it comes to buying a front/rear set of wheels for my bike? I would like to keep the cat squasher set up, but would like some nicer rims.
I have had the bike in storage since I got it about 18 years or so ago, and trying to make it roadworthy again.
Located in Canada, but willing to order from the US; if need be.
First... I’ve been drinking 94 proof bourbon while watching a somewhat not obscure non-Canadian debate.
That said. I also bought a new 1985 FXRS, in 1985.
Many questions.
Why is this thing being so sadly abused in someone’s backyard,
and what the heck is a cat squasher?
A cat squasher set up, is an old term for the front and rear tires/wheels being the same size; instead of a narrow front end.
It's been in storage for 18 years, and moved across the country 3 times; hence why I am fixing it up and sinking money into it. As it was pretty much brand new when I bought it, and would like it back in the same shape, despite all the hell it's been through.
I'm just trying to figure out where I can get the appropiate wheels, instead of keeping these ones on it.
Look like wheels transplanted from a Touring model
I suspect Front # 43493-87A Rear 43402-87A
Given your location, unless you hate the style, might be best to refurbish them
