Tired and being worn out all the time lately
Hello folks I have been following the thread about the man that fell asleep and crashed. I hope he heals quickly. I will be 62 in 6 weeks the last few months I have been feeling tired and worn out a lot. I work a job that demands heavy lifting all night. I work in a very big warehouse loading trucks. I keep myself in pretty good shape. But this is the first summer where I feel this way. And I just don’t have the energy to ride I have been out riding a few times but only manage about 50 miles before fatigue settles in. Been to the doctor he just you or getting old. Anyone else been there I am seriously considering taking my social security at 62 and working part time so I will maybe have more energy for riding and doing other things like things that need to be around the house that I don’t seem to have the energy for

I don’t think 62 is so old. Could be a lot of things. Maybe ask for blood work or a second opinion if you’re concerned. Too many doctors write stuff of and misdiagnose, whereas a different doctor will see things. Obviously diet and lifestyle will make a difference in how much energy you have. I feel a lot better overall when I’m not drinking, less tired and depressed. And there’s nothing wrong with slowing down your work schedule if that’s what you want. Time is all we got.

I'm 75. You're too young to be feeling like that on a regular basis, particularly if you have no underlying health issues. Here are a few thoughts...
Having good quality sleep every night is a must. You should try for a solid 8 hours. Are you on shift work? That makes it tougher. Are you sure you don't have sleep apnea? If you're married, has your wife told you that you stop breathing during the night? Do you snore? You might consider a sleep study for a diagnosis. I've been using a CPAP for almost 20 years. I will tell you it has changed my life. My sleep is rock solid, and I have plenty of energy.
Do you have an alcoholic drink in the evening? If you like a nightcap before bed, that will definitely interere with good sleep. Consider no alcohol after dinner. See if that helps.
My biggest challenge is that the damn dog keeps hogging my half of the bed.
Finally, if you haven't had a physical, have one. If your doctor is telling you that your symptoms are simply "getting older", you need a different doc.
EDIT: Just thought of something else. What meds are you taking? Some statins for cholesterol can have a side effect of fatigue. Do a search for side effects of any meds you take, and see if fatigue shows up.
Good luck!! Ride safe!

Find a new job,I was so fatigued I made a couple huge blunders at work and got fired.
Might be the best thing that could have been,my new job is much less stressful and I feel much better, making about the same take home pay and closer to home.
I'll be 68 in about 3 months, planning to retire at 70 for the top tier of SSI.
Also do get blood work done, could be something like an underactive thyroid,I got meds for this years ago and it made a huge difference,I even lost a lot of weight which I needed to do.
