Question Highway Pegs

Guys, I recently bought a 2024 Street Glide and was about to purchase ASAP highway pegs that mount to the engine bar. The salesman told me to stay away from this type because of the new style bar. He referenced they can possibly scrape the ground when cornering. I've always had them mounted on all my previous bikes but the bar was a different configuration and mounted much higher. Been riding softtails for many years and first time bagger owner. I been checking out the SG's and RG's pics on here and noticed some bikes have them mounted exactly where I planned. Is anyone having any scraping issues due to cornering?

I'm considering the Frame Mounted Adjustable Highway Peg Mount Kit from Ciro but they are on back-order, Part Number: 60101.

I was going to go with Ciro as well but got fed up waiting. I put pegs on my bars and don’t have any issues. I suppose if you have them rotated way down low you could scrape but mine are up enough.

I have the Harley short angled adjustable mounts and I do have them in a lower position-almost straight down and a little forward, due to my long legs. 37 inch inseam here. Note they can only be mounted in the center of the outer engine guard where you will see it is slightly wider. They come close when really leaning the bike a lot but I think you would be hard pressed to scrape them if you were trying to, at slower corners in my subdivision if I really lean the bike around a turn my heels on my shoes will scrape sometimes. Unless your racing the Isle of Man or something I don’t think you would ever lean that far going over 20mph to scrape them. With the long angled mounts you could be in trouble. This is exactly why I went with the short. Btw the short are 2.5 inches and the long are I believe 5 inches. I will upload pics when I get home from work.

The Ciro framed mounted peg set-up has worked out great for me.

Here are the short angled highway peg mounts. I have them mounted in the center on the engine guard and angled downward about 3/4 way down. The position lets me to stretch out my long legs comfortably on the highway. Yea they can scrape if you really lean the bike at slow speeds but you would have to be trying to do it or in a special situation turning onto a steep hill. I tried to lean excessively far in a parking lot and I was able to scrape one of them but it took a few tries.

my engine guard works great to rest and stretch my legs on when needed..so glad I don't have the need for these bulky, heavy, annoying, obtrusive and ugly contraptions

Ciro’s work great for me. I like to have my heel on the floorboard and toes resting on the highway pegs sometimes and they’re great for that. Ciro’s are very adjustable.

The Harley ones do have weird angles. It’s hard to get the foot rests exactly where you want them. It looks like the Ciro ones are better in that regard.
