Default Twitchy Throttle

Got a whole 60 miles on new Road Glide. Maybe twitchy is the wrong word . The throttle on the new bike feels super touchy, twitchy, sensitive, compared to my 18 sport glide.

Anyone else feeling that? I have it in road mode.

I love mine even in Sport mode..then again I grew up racing Two Strokes so these things are tame by comparison if it's too uncomfortable initially then maybe acclimate yourself in Rain Mode for awhile I guess, then you can create a Custom Mode with more power but dial back throttle sensitivity..you'll get accustomed to its behaviors

I had the same exact feeling on my 22 RGS. That was my first TBW bike. Made low speed maneuvers challenging. I pulled the throttle apart and lubed it 3-4 times. each time it would last a couple weeks and then return to being twitchy

I know it sounds weird, but for me I discovered that putting it on cruise control even for a few seconds would help reduce the twitchyness. Now, with 14k miles on the bike, the issue seems to have resolved it self 100%. YMMV.

The 24’s have a whole different throttle sensor system and changed the throttle response. I’m sure that is what you are feeling, especially if you were used to the previous throttle sensor.

I have my 17 FLHXS I bought used last fall. Its in service for a few things and super sensitive throttle was one thing. They checked redid my tune and checked that throttleprogressivity was stock setting, adjusted my throttle grip which was a touch sloppy. I might see an improvement when I get it back but I'm thinking going from a 2010 it's just more power and torque and there will be a learning curve. Really wants to take off from idle. So maybe your just dealing with bigger motor and torque.

You are exactly right. I experienced the same when riding the '24 Street Glide and Road Glide. May have something to do with HD running the bike leaner due to EPA regs.

I’m not seeing that on my 24. I don’t know what to say. . In Road mode, the throttle response of my 24 Road Glide feels the same as it did on my 22 Road King. Does switching to rain mode make any difference?

I think you're correct. It's just different than what I've been used to. I put another 50 miles on it today and getting accustomed to it already. Appears it just takes a lot less throttle movement to go from idle to 3000rpm than it did on my 107.
I appreciate all your responses.

I noticed this right off the bat.... especially accidentally twisting the throttle while trying to raise the volume Had a few unintended bursts of acceleration.
