Does a 96 shake as much as a 103?
Does a 96tc engine shake as much as a 103 at idle? I rode a 103 lowrider for a day and although I love the engine in a touring chassis, on a dyna it shook my teeth out at idle. I just came across a good deal on a 09 street bob and before I spend a day driving halfway across the state I figured I'd see what the internet has to say about it. Also, I'm recovering from a broken wrist that now has a metal plate and enough screws to open my own hardware store, so the amount of shake makes a big difference to me. What do y'all think?

True but does more displacement at some cause vibration at some point? Again as said different chasis. The dyna while not the same is rubber mounted. I have never rode one, so I don't know the difference. A touring bike shakes a like a junkie at idle.

Ah $hit if a 96" dyna shakes worse than a 103" this probably aint gonna work for me, but so far we have 1 little chunka chunka and 2 votes for pretty bad. I also have an evo dyna and the amount of shake is perfect, just enough to give the engine an endearing character, not so much it causes a concussion. Appreciate the insight so far guys, would like to hear from more ppl too

There is of course the possibility that the Dyna you tried was not in perfect shape, the engine rubber mounts could be broken or loose for instance, making it shake more than normal.
Before writing iit off maybe you could try another bike?
I really can't see any reason why a Twin Cam Dyna would shake more than an Evo. The TC has shorter stroke and the frame on a 96" Dyna is a bit more sturdy. Also the efi will spin it at a bit higher rpm:s at idle compared to a carbed Evo. If anything I would expect a TC equipped bike to shake less.
But I could of course be wrong, wouldn't be the first time
