Default Alarm/Lock Reccomendations

Looking for recommendations on securing bike when parked.
What is everyone using for security?
Wheel lock? Disk lock?
Done a search on forum but didn't come up with anything.

Just park it and not worry? Where you parked that it needs all that?

I just use the fork lock. I also keep the TourPak and Saddlebags lock while I am away from the bike.

If you use a brake disk lock, sooner or later you will forget it's on there. Most likely in front of a small crowd. Can make for a little intertainment

To avoid that I got one of those coiled reminder cords. Its bright orange color is a good reminder the lock is being used.

I discovered, and have posted before, how a little dog choke chains collar through the rear wheel protected my H1 for several weeks while parked at UNLV in 8/1971.
The first day I didn't use it was the last day I saw my Kawasaki.

Sometimes seemingly insignificant protection can help, depending on where a scooter is parked.

Any lock, or something that will slow down a scum-sucking, low intellect thief, will usually work. Most idiots look for the quick and easy steal, so anything that might slow them down will usually work.

And, as mentioned, youre weapon of choice. I prefer a .45

I have a disc lock and comprehensive insurance. That's probably as good as it gets.
In reality, if you shoot some fool for trying to steal your bike, you're going to lose everything you own to pay a lawyer to try to keep your *** out of prison.
