Default Harley is not supplying parts

Need a part for a 20 14 and 15 dyna and was told the parts showed as obsolete. I know H-D and othe brands are refusing to work on bikes and are in a big hurry to list parts as obsolete but I thought they were supposed to supply parts and support for ten years after manufacture. A 2015 is obviuosly less than 10 years old so what gives? Anyone else have this issue? I mean, why buy a new bike if it's going to be considered obsolete a few years after the sale making it impossible or very difficult to service or repair the bike?

What parts? sometimes "obsolete" parts have been replaced by upgraded parts with a different part number.

I ran into the same problem with my 2015 Dyna Switchback. Needed the plastic ABS cover. Obsolete. Had the dealer search inventory of the entire country and found one in stock at a dealer about two hours from my home. If you find your part like that, you now have a problem getting the dealer to sell and ship it to you due to HD's newly imposed rule that they can only sell to buyers in their local area. Luckily, it was easier to ride two hours than trying to convince the dealer to sell and ship it to me.

Crap like this with HD is bad; obsolete parts on late models and preventing dealers from selling the leftover parts if they have them.

I remember having some trouble with a 10 year old Road King speedo and finding out the part was obsolete.
It’s ridiculous.

And who is going to make them supply parts. NO one. The Street 500'750 line they dropped HD has made part Obsolete that you need and you can not get them. Same with some of the specialty tools need to work on them.

Call customer service and check aftermarket Good luck.

Not going to bother calling what they call customer service. If this is how they want to treat their life long customers I'm done buying any more new bikes from them. Lots of older low mile bikes around at a great price so I'll be going that route. Can't beat a nice low mile Evo powered bike and parts are all over the place for them. I hate H-D management for what they've done to the brand. Hey, it was nice while it lasted.....

They won't miss you. They are looking to the new generation to buy things, and keeping older bikes on the road is not profitable. You didn't mention the part you needed, so it's difficult to offer advice or point you to the aftermarket world. Most older bikes, my 2011 included, keep going with the help of the aftermarket. Even my '23 has a ton a of aftermarket parts already.

Automotive manufacturers are required to make parts for 10 years. Motorcycles are not in that class. They are in the class of RV, which only requires 3 years of parts.

I came to the same conclusion around 2010. I love HD bikes, but I hate HD corporate. I wont spend a dime with them unless I have to. And youre right about the Evos, my 1995 looks and rides as nice as any newer one.
