Slow Speed Sound
I have a question. I have never taken a LiveWire out for a demo, but I am curious about one thing. Does the LiveWire make a sound or emit a sound between 0 and 20 mph? The government has a regulation that all electric vehicles must made a sound between these speeds to let pedestrians know that is a vehicle coming. I looked at one and can't seem to find the module that would emit a sound, which is why I'm asking. I know on a lot of EV cars and trucks, they are buried in the engine compartment.
Anyone with some insight that could let me know would be great.

As I recall from the Livewire announcements when it was first launched, that gear whine was designed on purpose to give the Livewire it's own distinct sound.

Well I have no Livewire but a Energica Ribelle, when I bought this I was hesitating between the two, but in the end I chose the Energica because of the larger battery capacity of 21.5 kWh compared to 15.5 kWh and the higher torque of 215Nm and higher topspeed.
In retrospect, I would have preferred the sound of the Livewire because with the Energica it continues to howl like a sick cat and that eventually becomes annoying when you drive a little longer, I would have preferred it to stop whining from 25mph like my i3.

This is he rule: https://www.federalregister.gov/docu...d-and-electric
It only "applies to electric and hybrid-electric passenger cars, MPVs, light trucks, and buses with a GVWR of 10,000 pounds or less and to low speed vehicles (LSVs)"
Not required on motorcycles.
