Default Lithium melt down

This Lithium was good for about three years, then quit holding a charge. An employee of my buddy put a regular battery charger on it, instead of the 'special' one, and the battery had a meltdown!!!!

Lucky it didn't start a fire in true lithium fashion!

My H-D dealer quit selling them because of problems with the lithium batteries.

I’m not sure if my dealer did the same, but I did notice that the big display they had advertising them is now gone.

I had one in my ‘17 Slim. The parts guy who sold it to me gave me some bad advice, and as a result, it totally discharged on me over the winter. The dealership let me return it in the spring for a full refund. I replaced it with a non-Harley anti-grav battery.

The charger needs to be specific to a lithium battery. The cells hold 3.7 volts each. When they drop below that the battery is destroyed. When you try to charge them after they drop below that, the go cabalooey. Moral of the story, batteries are far more dangerous than most people realize.

I knew there was a reason for not buying one for my bike. Too many negatives.
