the metal body of the regulator is the ground for it and should be attached to a good metal spot on the machine, some also run a ground wire under one of it fasteners to an engine ground point as a secondary means.

On the right side is two wires, I assume a hot and a ground. The left has 3, I believe it's a 3 phase stator.
I put aggressive nuts with a big base and knurls in an attempt to ground it better and easily.
2 hour ride yesterday, once the radio reset and during that the volt meter dipped to 10. Very short lived incident. Today was 1 hour ride and again it happened once.
I bought a new Reg, I have 30 days to return it.

I have the same issue I thought it was regulator so I put a new one on it and it has ran like a top for about two days now and I rode home from work parked it for maybe two hours and now no start any idea what else it may be?
