Default Custom Oil Cooler Shield

Made an oil cooler shield using stainless steel mesh cut with a Dremel tool. Painted stock plastic cover with Krylon Fusion spray paint in gloss black. I think it's a nice detail. MOCO wants $150 for a similar part.

Looks good. How did you secure the mesh to the plastic?

It's a friction fit. Cut two notches in mesh to fit around lower pegs of cover. Place screen on inside of cover and snap it in. Screen is held securely. You could epoxy or add two small bolts and nuts to outside bottom of cover but not necessary.

Nice work...Made mine out of expanded metal and 1/8 aluminum flat stock attached with 3/16 pan screws with chrome acorn nuts...thought about doing it as you did but did not want anything in contact with the cooler...After seeing your paint job I might pull mine and paint the fabed bracket and cowling to match..yours looks good painted.
