Default Winterfun with Evo.

Today I had an appointment at my local Dealership for testriding the m8 Softails.
Temperatures in the 50s, dry weathercondition - not to bad for a trip.

But... just at the moment I wanted to jump into my car, my Softail Heritage talked to me:

"So you really want to leave me here, driving one of those young b******?"
"Ah, yes! Heard they have lots of torque and a superduper frame."
"Lots of torque? Are you kiddin? Did you ever bother about speed and torque?
What the hell are you smokin?"
"Nothing, just wanna check out the new models."
"Okay, why not save time and money?... Take me for a trip. Man I'm yours! You know your old lady knows how to give you a good ride!"
"Well..."

I cancelled at the Dealership, started my 1996 FLSTC and rode it till dawn.
She was right.... Nothing better than riding my ole Lady.

I had mine out today. 40 degrees feels like 80 after last week on the east coast.

Either they don't use salt on the roads in Conn. or you don't care!

Lol. That’s why it’s still outside, waiting for it to cool so I can rinse.

Great post and a great bike, OP. I had the same experience riding an M8 Softail earlier last fall. A great bike for sure, "better" than my Evo in almost every way, but riding home on my Evo, the old bike just felt so right.

I was just talking to a guy at work today about the Milwaukee 8's and how nice they are. Then he asked how much they cost? I said a new Road Glide will cost almost 20K more than my 96 Road King cost me.
