I hope someone can hlp me out.

I bought SE Air cleaner kit 29400117 (on catalog picture all looks the same), back plate looks the same PN 29239-08.

Now I removed stock filter (not back plate yet) and mounting holes to throttle body wont line up with new backplate.

Am I missing anything? I dont want to keep disassembling backplate as mismatch is so easy to spot already. I guess vent bolts are holding backplate in place as on older bikes. Pics of my dilema below


This is picture of each hole misalignment. What the hack HD?

 

The "-08" part number indicates it was first used on '08 bikes. There were changes to the throttle body since then, esp '11's.

Make sure you have the correct part for your model year.

 

So I figured out I need correct backplate for my 2014 Slim as seller indicated incorrect kit part number. If anyone has one with PN 29510-05 chrome or 29400081 (black) I will prefer chrome.

In addition I need bracket mounting 2940019

and plug breather 29557-05 (2 pieces)

I ordered new filter and have one I got with this kit for sale PN 29400065 (like new)

Hope cover will fit and it is universal. What a pain. If I cannot put this all together I might sell what I got as is.

actually I ordered parts from dealer today to convert this to my model

 

its just gonna take a differne tback plate that matches yours you can find on ebay for 20.00


I put a 2013 streetglide special 103 breather on both my 05 and 09 just takes the right back plate ..I have two brand new 13 back plates wanna buy one for 20.00 plus shipping ? its for 103's I know for sure

As far as converting it to 2014 new backplate with vents is needed and I need new filter as well as bracket holding cover which is different too due to holes in throttle body.

The whole deal with all new gaskets for additional parts run at about $100 total while I will have some extra parts from original set up (chromed backplate, vents, cover mounting bracket and filter which is technically fully functional filter set up). If I can get rid of below set at 80$ that will put me in right place and I hope I will make someone happy at fair price.

 

i installed that SE breather on my 14 SGS. There was a bracket bolted each end from one head to the other just above the throttle body that has to be removed in order to bolt up the backing plate.

 

Correction, the bracket to be removed if I remember correctly is bolted to the throttle body.

 

That is correct
