Hey all I'm Kaine And from South Australia and looking at Buying my first Harley!!!!
Im not a man with a lot of money so need to make the right choice and I am looking at the WG and the Fat BOB as the dyna is more in my price range.. So Im wanting a bike that I can take out for a couple of hours on a Sunday But also something that can go the distance as I plan to travel to every state of Australia on it.
I do hear the Fat Bob is the best all round bike for harley but keen to hear your thoughts

I'm definitely biased, but I'm team fat bob. Dual disk brakes stock, wider tires help the bike track better, more nimble handling for the front end, and more light output if you will be riding at night regularly. If you don't like the dual headlight, it isn't very hard to swap out for a 5" 3/4 bucket, or a 7" light.

You can add luggage options to either bike, be it saddlebags, or putting on a sissy bar and strapping bags to it. I strongly recommend suspension upgrades to help with comfort and handling on either bike though, proper suspension is the best thing I have done to my bike.

I say, alright seriously the one u like is the one u should get. They are both great bikes. The wide glide will handle different than the fat bob, you will get use to it.i went from a sporty to a wide glide, not a problem!

 

I have a fatty but I'd also gladly have a WG

 

I've ridden every Dyna
I picked the Fat Bob.
I sometimes envy the look of the WG and even the SB,
Then I let my friends that have them ride mine.
Listening to them rave about my bike,
Reassured me I made the right choice.

 

How the roads where you'll be riding? The Wide Glide is a bit of a princess. The skinny front tire doesn't do well with rutted, potholed roads, and the rake of the forks ensures it does not respond as nimbly as other Dynas.

That said, Wide Glide is my favorite between the two, and it's what I keep in my garage.

 

Gonna drive everyone mad now, if you are limited on budget, get a used 2014+ BMW R1200GS, ride the hell out out it around OZ, then later save the cash and get a new Softail Fatbob, go ahead OP,s start shooting.

 

I agree totally with this, and I ride a Wideglide.

 

I ride both of them. My brother has a WideGlide and I have a FatBob.
The FatBob is a better ride for me.
I don't like the skinny front tire or seat on the WG.
My seat goes on his wideglide when I ride it.
