I can fill in the gouge with some high temp RTV then wrap some electrical tape around the spot.

Russ, Mark W had some questions about quality and cert requirements. Fred told him "Bah, it's stuff for overseas, so don't worry about it."

 

Yeah that really isn't the answer we like to give. He's not an engineer, he's a designer which means he has no certificates or special education which makes him an overblown drafter. As the Chief Inspector, I like certs. All of his work is looked at by our stress analysis engineer so to say you can do a subpar job is not correct. Please use traceable materials and could you forward that email to me?
