I too think it would be very odd for a clutch to slip in one gear only. That clutch is not that smart, it doesn't really know what gear you are in. As for the migrating issue. I'd be curious at what rpm he runs normally. The dyno guys are only really noticing that above 4K rpm. I personally rarely run it in that range. and finally, did you keep Formula Plus in the tranny or switch to a gear oil of some type?

It's pretty typical for a failing clutch to start showing up in 5th. That's basically the power gear at speed. Been a few posts about that over the years.

Wind resistance + tall gear = higher torque demand = slipping.

Wow, you give these forums way too much credit. For every bike that has the issue, there are 99 that don't. At least 3/4 of those that don't have the problem say nothing. Just like the "fake news" trend, you have to choose your facts wisely.

This forum is FAMOUS for the Chicken Little attitude. Every time Harley puts out something new you'd think the sky was falling and every single bike made was a piece of crap. The "don't be a beta tester" guys come out of the woodwork. Bottom line is there were some issue with some of the early bikes but I suspect a VERY small percentage of those sold and Harley will fix it. That's why you get a warranty. The amazing thing is that most of the guys SPREADing the stories don't even own one of what they are flaming.

Agree 100%. It doesn't matter what it is; saw the same thing on the Camaro forums when I bought my 2012 SS. It was laughable, to be honest.
