Hi, I bought a Harley Hammock seat for my 08 Ultra. Arrived via UPS and I have been trying to mount this SOB???? Nothing lines up--- anyone with a 08 have the same issues? Had to have my buddy sit on the back to get the screw in the back. This is a one year rider only seat --53051-09 -- only supposed to fit 08's. Anyone with this same bike and seat willing to take a photo of the underside of the seat? Thanks in advance!!!
BTW the only numbers on it are 23672 and RDW92/61-0067

 

Same problem here on my 08 E Glide Classic. Dealer was going to let me demo it. No fit no buy. The rear screw tab was almost two inches higher tha the the fender.
Had my seat reworked and luv it.

I have an 08 and a 12, same issue on the 08 you have (fits the 12 fine)

I don't run it on the 08 but tried it on it. Be careful the rear seat tab doesn't break/crack the plastic once installed (as you have to push it down on rear of seat to put the screw in).

 

I'm going to see if boardtracker will take it back?? I thought maybe they sent the wrong seat--- but I guess not. Kind of a bad design- but if I can't return I'll have to come up with some type of spacer??

FWIW, this seat will fit 09-13 as well. I have it on my 2012 Ultra. I love that seat. Tractor comfort.

If its just a case of the screw tab being higher than the rear fender, cant you put a spacer between the tab and fender to make up the gap and use a longer screw?

 

Is it hitting something? Do you have a rider backrest? Passenger grab bars? 2" sounds like a lot to be off. My Hammock hit my rider backrest mount. I played with the mount location and shaved a little bit of the plastic from the seat frame. Works great now. Hope you get it worked out.

 

With the seat on the bike, when you sit on it, does the seat hit the saddlebags? like in the region in the pic below circled in yellow

(That is my Hammock, I threw it on my 08 and took a pic. When sitting on it, it seems to touch the lids)

 

No backrest just the tourpack. The bumpers on seat pan didn't even hit the frame? It rested on the fender/tourpack mounts and would have cut the seat if I tried to tighten the screw.
Yes mine did the same--couldn't open either bag without hitting the seat & and would have over time tore the seat. The bumpers on the seat pan hit both side panels and would have scratched the paint???

 

Just an update--Boardtracker is letting me return the seat & even paying return shipping! They & Harley know of the problem with the 08 & the Hammock. So the seat search continues!? Thanks to all who replied.
