WTF? I really didn't know there was a difference? Polarity reversed or something?
Beats the @#% outta me.. Got another brand, tried both ways.. Blows..
Reckon I gotta give the HD dealer mo money.. No wonder they charge so much for em' and won't sell the lighter separate from the socket..

I've had a bunch of problems with regular lighters and sockets. The Harley lighter kit works well and was never an issue. I can't use the lighter element itself on my "leash" because of the rubber cap. A lot of lighter elements have different configurations at the end near the heat element if you compare them. The closest one to the HD is from a Ford.

I got this one and it works OK, but is a little loose and sometimes comes flying out. Have to play a little with the "fingers" inside the socket to get it just right

Home sweet home. I'll let the next crew finish the prime rib.

The ribs and sweat breads were awesome as usual. I wish I could stay for dinner but the wife works the fair from 3 to midnight.
