I left Hill City at 6:30 am this morning. I arrived home at 9:30 pm (all times Central). I rode 922 miles, my new one day personal best. I thought about riding to 1000, but figured the family would be pissed, lol.

It was an awesome trip. Talked to some I interesting people, and avoided some weird ones. Bike ran like a champ. It got 44 mpg while doing 85 mph. It's filthy and will take an entire day to clean.

If you haven't been to the Black Hills, put it on your to do list. Heading for home.
Last sunrise in the Black Hills.
Stopped at one last dealership.

I rode 2815 miles in 5 days.

I went for the first time in 2013, and have been back every year since. The black hills are very addictive. I'm glad you had a good experience and shared with us.

900+ Miles is a big day. I find on 600+ Mile days a calmness washes over me, where I become one with the road, the bike, the country around me. It is almost surrealistic in its effect on body and mind.

Nice ride, pictures..... thanks for including us.

Thanks for the comments guys.

The ride yesterday was pretty easy actually. 12 hour days are a norm for me. The last 2 hours of the ride home were during those magic light hours, where the winds are dead, and a zen like feeling sets in. I was on some of my favorite back roads, listening to classic rock, and felt like I just started riding.

I did sleep like a rock, for nine hours. I woke up and immediately went outside and cleaned the bike. 2 hours later and it's ready to ride.....which is going to happen.

I'll add a link to the pics I took with my actual camera in a day or three.
