Valparaiso or Michigan City are two decent spots. Michigan City has Blue Chip casino and room rates are pretty reasonable. Much further west and you're starting to get close to Gary. You are not going to want to stay there or anywhere south of Chicago. If you can make it to the north side of Chicago, I've stayed in Skokie and it isn't bad.

Depends on your route and what you are looking for. We stayed at Dwight IL a couple of years ago (Jct I-55, Rte 66 and IL-17; south of Joliette). I think it was a Super 8 and I think there are one or two others. Filled the bill for us.

Joliet at the Houbolt exit off I-80 has several hotels. The next morning you could take I-55 North to I-294 to Wisconsin.

Not sure exactly how far we will go would like to knock out over half the trip the 1st day. But we will have the women on the back of our bikes so its really gonna come down to them. Otherwise we would do it all in 1 shot. Ill pass on gary indiana for sure lmao. We were lookin to avoid chicago on the way out so we will probly run on 80 until i believe it was 35 or 39 that runs straight north back up to 90 then run it to la cross. Just kinda lookin for a cool little town to check out with good food and a cool pub or 2 to hang out in. Even if it is a little out of they way just a place that has somethin stand out that most would normally pass.

90 to LaCrosse sucks. You're going to miss so much that way. 80 to the Great River Road to LaCrosse is very nice. But if you don't have that kind of time, I get it.

Utica IL is a cute little town, it's also at the gateway to Starved Rock State Park. 39 is just a little west of this exit.

Jeff any idea how long it takes on thar road. Looks like a nice ride. Time wise may be an issue. If the women werent on the back of the bikes we would be able to do it but a 1 day trip is gonna get turned into at least 2 days. Ill check that out chilidog. Thanks for the replies folks. I like seein places most dont take the time yo stop at
