Wide Glide Roll Call

Good news to me. I want, so badly, to go back to a wide glide. I'm certain the 90 tire will give me the more solid road surface feel I want, and the progressives will reduce the bottoming out. I never missed dual front disks; I've always gotten out of situations more often with throttle rather than brakes.
I'm concerned about the smaller gas tank, and lack of pipe side ground clearance on the new ones.
The only alternative for me is the Fat Bob which I would want to rake, but it has a larger tank, a meaty tire, and much better ground clearance.
I'll be test riding soon, and then decide.
For me, the WG not only looks great, but also cornered so well that my Ninja friend would say to others that I was hard to follow.
My wife decided to ride after 40 years so I went to Ultra, but she may or may not ride now that we're moving back to Ca, so no more weighty Ultra.

I picked up a '17 Wide Glide over Easter weekend. I am in the Reblic of California, so getting exhaust is pretty stringent. I ordered V&H Slip ons with black heat shields from the dealer but really have no desire to pick them up. Thinking about being a full blown criminal here and smuggle a full system here. My plans are to just do the intake remap and some cams. To my understanding this already has the Hi-Flow intake seeing how it's the HO motor?
I am looking for just grunt for cruising, I just want a low end/midrange power.

Welcome to the clan of the Wide Glide First off, that 'hi-flow' A/C is bogus marketing; DK and others have already done dyno runs with it and it still is nowhere near a true Stage 1 free flowing A/C. Do the real deal A/C along with venting the oily, hot, oxygen depleted crankcase gasses to atmosphere.
It doesn't matter what Governor Moonbeam says, do it right; whatever it takes We won't tell anyone, promise. I'm so far off the EPA bubble I'm surprised the black helicopters aren't following me around

Wide glide's have 31 degree lean angle on the left but only 28 on the right because of the stock tommy gun exhaust , if u do pipes you will have good ground clearance. I went from stock 12 inch shock to progressive12.5, mono tube upfront, I went with 90 90 21 front tire, and alloy art stabilizer's. The bike has plenty of ground clearance, and handles great!!

I believe it was early 1980 the first time I saw the ads for the new Wide Glide; and it was instant love. I told my FXS we'd had a good run and a great time, but it was time for me to move on. I've owned other HD's over the years as well, but the Wide Glide is my religion and my love. HD builds nothing else I want...
