Default bagger bolts?

was just looking at my bike and it seems like there isn't really a need to use bagger bolts anymore. the back of the stock "bolt" doesn't seem accessible with a screw driver anymore?

I would agree. I don't see the bags going anywhere.

HOWEVER, I see a bigger issue. Assume your bag is locked - what is stopping someone from removing the torx screws that hold the latch onto the inside of the bag? (circled in red in the below picture) These are easily removable with a ratchet, and your bag is no longer locked...

I put bolts on my Limited last year. It just didn't seem to me the stock twist off bolts were very strong. They probably were fine, but looking at those stock bolts, just had so many notches in them. I sometimes carry a lot of weight in them, so I bought bolts to be safe.

^ Same here, I like the increased sturdiness of the bolts.

If you are worried about that you could fill the screw with JB Weld or something similar. Then if you need to get the latch off later just chip it out. (Bags would need to be off to do this)

I have bagger bolts. Personally, I put a drop of blue loctite on 'em after finding one fallen off in the bottom of the bag.
