The 7" model is available from Direct Cycle Parts for $640 shipped, which is where I got mine.
Also to the ones complaining about the looks - get the black version.

I am probably ordering one of these new fangled 55w HID setups that the whole import world is screaming about. As a former 35w HID owner, I am all a tingle at the thought that a 55w version is available now. Since the 35w HID light on my Fat Boy was freakin amazing in it's own right, I can only imagine how bright a 55w HID is gonna be!!! All for a grand total of......... Thirty five bucks, delivered.

I have the 7" Adaptive on my Breakout, and it is pretty amazing. I've read previous posts about the lack of "lumens" from people that are specs junkies and have no experience with it. I can tell you from actual experience that even in a straight line this light is brighter than the Evo 2 that I replaced, and adding the cornering makes this thing a real plus!

Personally I love the look as well. In black anyway, I never cared for the chrome face.

Details please
I run a 55 watt HID in a projector housing and it makes my buddy's LED light look like a piece of **** and he is into his for about 5X what I am, he is looking for an HID now. LED is still in its infancy and we are the manufacturers giinea pigs. HID's have no hot or dark spots, just CRAZY bright even consistent coverage 45 degrees each way and has a razor sharp cutoff so I don't blind oncoming drivers and I can select whatever colour spectrum I want at the change of the bulb. The housing was $120 on FleaBay and the ballast's (auto ballast's so I got 2 ballast's and 2 bulbs) were $40. If someone gave me a LED light I would use it as a wheel chalk or door stop
Can you show exactly what you bought? a quick search comes up with a lot of kits for 55 watt and Projector Housings. quickly got overwhelmed with options.

I have the 8790 adaptive headlight and love it. I had the Truck lite and it was much better than anyones stock light that I have seen. The truck lite has a nice wide pattern and lets you see the colors of what is going by. I bought the 8790 because I could and I have been impressed with what it does. It has a wider AND brighter beam than the truck lite and when you turn on the hi beam you can see all the way to tomorrow.
As someone else said, lumens mean nothing because it is the lenses that make it usable. Bottom line is yes, it is spendy. But if you want the best--- then this is the light to get.
