I used a 5x8 enclosed from Uhaul. My FlhtCu fit with the tour pack in the stock position. Be sure to rent one with the swing out doors (rather than roll-up). You get 3 more inches of useable length on the same chassis, you need it. Plenty of tie down eyes, A screw gun and a couple of 2x4s to block the front tire. Lightweight, low and relatively cheap per day.

Don't remember the size, sorry, but it is the one for about $15 a day. Perfect fit for a king... pun intended

That's the one. Light, chocked, and simple.

Jeeper101, this is exactly the picture I was looking for. Thank you very much.

When I've towed my bike a few times with that trailer, I didn't go above 70.

NP. Are you closing in on a victim? Or just making preparations for when you find "the one"?
Either way, make sure you show us some good pics!!!

yeah, I have a thread going on, "In the market fr a road king classic part 2". Part one was general questions, part 2 is now honing in on models.

Oh once I get mine pictures will be posted. I have been keeping the group in suspense for 2 weeks now. I certainly couldn't get a bike and not boast about it.

Most States don't restrict trailers to 55 MPH like California, I use to live in
Castro Valley California.

The 5X9 is what you want. Just make sure that you specify the one with the ramp and chock. They had a 5X9 without them that you still run across. there is not a whole lot of leftover room in the 5X9 front to rear on a full sized touring bike with the newer frame.

I have used them on several occasions on 800 mile hauls for vacation with the family.
