Road Star since it seems somebody wants to turn this into a dick wagging contest and I don't want to derail your thread only advice I'll offer up from 40 plus years building and customizing bikes is do what speaks to your soul buddy. I mean whatever as long it's what moves and speaks to you be it the current trend or something altogether new, that's what it's all about making it yours .

op... you want black , chrome or green... whatever,, as the last5 poster said... do what speaks to you... but there is no problem asking for advise and looking at what others have done.....ive blacked up a few... and i have always done a little at a time...until it looks done to me then i stop.....regardless if others think its stale doughnuts
I am all about Black Bikes with a little chrome. Obviously, any bike done up in chrome or black or in-between looks good when done right. Let your freak flag fly
