Also, (and I apologize for my ignorance on this subject), most of the kits I've seen have said "Replaces electric start with kick start."... do they actually mean "replace"? Because I obviously want this as an addition to the electric start...

It just adds the ability to kick if you desire. It doesn't affect the electric starter in any way. As mentioned make sure your exhaust clears the area where the kicker mounts or you will have to replace the pipes also.

I'll check. It has dual exhaust, I'm fairly certain it's stock.

So a few people have mentioned some kits requiring the removal of studs to replace them with bolts... how do I know which kits require that and which don't? The picture of the kicker cover in my original 1970-1976 FLH manual looks identical to the one at J&P Cycle.

Yea the webstore is screwed up, the standard kicker cover(casted chrome) is $495. Replica covers range from $595 to $660 depending on the finish and the billet covers are $695. All covers come with our Baker kicker gears and all come with a 2 year/20,000 mile warranty. You do not have to replace your studs. If you have any questions feel free to get a hold of me. 517-339-3835,877-640-2004 or mark@bakerdrivetrain.com.

Man, everything I've heard and read about you guys has been great, I just don't have 500 bucks for a kickstart right now. We'll see what happens later this summer. I'll definitely keep you in mind. Thanks.

Yeah, it's OEM or baker. Your knee will live much longer

It appears your "kicker covers" are complete kits...you should list them as so...I searched your site for 20 minutes before I responded, because I knew you sold them...makes it not come up when you google it.
