Thanks, TwiZted, for the info on the Weber. I may just hang it on the wall in the shop as a conversation/decoration piece.

It's a bit of harley history that a lot know nothing about , somewhere some old school knuckle dragger would love to get his hands on it but finding his cave will be the issue

I guess that would help ...lol..I have 83 shovel w super E as well ...I wanted to know your settings if possible roughly how many turns in or out on the settings
Your fuel mix, idle and x pump. Just a reference . I know I can play with it but any short cuts or opinions are appreciated ..

Turning the motor over ...starting it from fresh rebuild

Usually 1.5 turns on the mixture screw for starters. Fresh rebuild, rings, valve job and lifters I would crank it for 30 seconds with plugs out twice (with rest in between) just to get a little oil moving around....

Let me add... Tuning is done with No Accelerator Pump.... None
If needed, after all else is done... or if the User is a Throttle Jockey!!!!
Be careful cranking an old Shovel with no plugs in... a good recipe for a Stuck solenoid...
A Good Wrench already has your oil up to wherever it is required... Some wrenches???? Not so Much.
Be careful!!!
Not that I do Not have an S&S Carb or "some"... I really like the CV, but hate the Manifold adapter...so QwiksilverII for me thanks...
LOL... Just throwin some **** at the wall!!!!!

Just a little humor that's all.. but when it comes to carbs everyone had their preference.. they all work, just depends on the mechanic...
