Default Blinking headlight

Just like the title suggests, my head/tail light blink when I turn on the ignition switch. Last year I moved BC to Alberta and had to get an out of province inspection...had the front brake connected to the brake light and everything was working normally.

Thoughts?

has it always done this? high beam or low beam or both? how fast do they blink? It could be a short, and the circuit breaker is cycling. Joe

when you did that you might have used the flasher as the power to the brake switch - maybe

It's roughly the same speed as the turn signals would be ordinarily, maybe a bit faster. I've never had it do this before. Definitely too fast to be the breaker cycling. I had a mechanic set up the brake while he was doing my out of province inspection, so I would HOPE he'd wired it correctly. Low beam for sure, haven't checked high beam. Also the right signal works (albeit very weak)

sounds like you've got some crossed wires. you or your mechanic will have to trace them out.

The guy wired the flasher in goofy , can't say what without eyes on so I'd be taking it to a decent wrench or hunt up a wiring diagram for your year and educate yourself . It's looks much worse than they really are .
