Default Top End Build on '76 FXE

It's been a long time since I've been on the forums! Anyway I picked up a 76 FXE, 74" and I'm getting the top end rebuilt and bored to 84":

Wiseco Pistons, S&S cams, new valve springs, and an electronic ignition.

Anyone know what kind of tq/hp numbers I can expect?

Thanks!

bore all day and you wont get to 84" unless you use aftermarket big bore cylinders or stroker flywheels..

74" wheels and 3 5/8 cylinders = 82.56"

cases/heads have to be bored and flywheels have to be re-balanced --

just find a used set of 80" wheels yeah the stock weight heavy wheels and the 3 5/8 cylinders and make a 88"

Pick up a 84" hot set up from S&S. Worked on my 76 FX.

Yep that's what's going in, at least the equivilant. How much of a boost did you get from that setup?

84 isn't earth shaking in the differences where you'll really feel it is two up and pulling loads in the hills if she's cammed right , they tend to be torque monsters unless you went with the lighter flywheels and then you'll find you have stay up in the higher RPM ranges to stay in the power band but it will be quicker off the line that way .

your not gonna make them understand that the lighter wheels you lose torque -- its more of a I got S& name brand wheels brag brag-brag --

a heavy bike with lighter wheels will do like twisted says -- use the stock weight wheels -- they even make 4.500 stroke heavy wheels-- your not gonna get some fantastic super hight revving engine with lighter wheels.. just a bike you have to ride the clutch to get it out the hole --

"84" ?? andrews "B" or a sifton #112 the cobra
