Need a little wiring help...
Forgive me but Im new to Harleys. I recently acquired an 82 shovel superglide. Im in the process of redoing the electrical wiring and Im good at following schematics but I have a small problem.
First, I dont know what that switch on the tank is called. The one with, Lights Ignition Off Accessories. Second, I dont have a schematic for that so I dont know which terminal goes to which. The way it is currently wired didnt make sense to me and I think its wrong. All the wires are the same color so I dont know which one is what. Im putting them back to stock colors and really need to know which terminals do what.
There is one each on the top right and left, and 4 on the bottom. Any help would be great.

you should invest in a stock wire harness and than use a stock 82 wire diagram from the factory book - its how we do every one and never had an issue when done
what we have done is take the factory book to staples or a copy place like it and blow up the wire diagramm to 18 X 24 you then have a great visual to follow and it cost just 3 or 4 bucks to do - if you need help with any thing specific just PM me - jz

How many terminals are on the switch?
One will be hot all the time that is the batt. Use your volt meter to find it.
Take off each wire and touch it to that wire or put a jumper on it.
If your lights come on, we'll you get the idea.
Have you looked to see if the back of the switch is marked?

The batter is not even connected right now. I am needing to redo a bunch of the wires because they were all jerry rigged, spliced with different guages. Once I get this switch figured out, I can put the batter back in and see if this thing will now start, which it didnt do before.
I disconnected the wires from the switch already. There are four terminals at the bottom. Only three had wires on them. Then there is one on the top left and top right. Give me a few minutes and I will try to get a picture of what it looks like.

Ok here is the pic. Where the three wires are at now, is where the old ones were. The problem is that the other end on the old wires were not connected to anything, so I dont know where to put them. One is for Lights, one for Ignition, one for Accessory. But tha leaves one bottom terminal open.. Also, the little red wire coming from the speedo I believe goes to the top right terminal
