Covers are off. The lock nut on the pushrod adjust screw is so tight the adjust screw turns with it. Impact wrench doesn't help either. I have to get the lock nut off to put a washer behind it to relieve the pressure on the three pressure springs. Any suggestions?

If it was working fine and just quit working and it is not the cable....I think you will find it is the throw-out bearing or the "fingers" that push on it.

Default Stuck clutch

When I squeeze the clutch lever I can see the pressure plate move out. It must be one or two disks that are not releasing inside.

Covers are off. The lock nut holding the clutch adjusting screw is so tight, I cannot move it. The whole adjuster screws moves with it. There must be a nut on the back that i cannot see and is spinning with the adjuster screw. What if i loosen and take off the three nuts holding the pressure plate and 10m springs first? I'm sure it will pop off with no way to get it back on without loosening the center screw/lock nut. Any suggestions are appreciated.

no remove one nut in center put a big flat washer on where the nut came off then put the nut on there and compress the outside plate, then take off the 3or5 nuts on the plate, plate and springs will come off in one piece then you have access to your clutch plates pay attention how you take them out fiber metal or metal then fiber clean with Mineral spirits get the oil soak out of them. Roughen the fibers up a little on concrete or use 100 grit sandpaper. also when putting the metals back in try to stagger the alignment of the small ball bearing arms.

Default Stuck clutch

Ok i've had success. I had to take the three nuts off the pressure plate first because the lock nut turned with the center screw. The pressure plate is bad because the threaded collar in it spins freely. It should be welded or press fitted so it can't turn. So I need to get a new pressure plate, adjuster screw and lock nut. The rest is easy. Thanks for all the help. This forum is terrific!

By the way, ONE of the disks was STUCK HARD to one of the plates. Had to pry it apart with a screwdriver.

That was a good guess but the clutch gets difficult go operate as the fingers are off angle - i have seen the presure plate doing that but its not at all common, and its been many years -- the fix was the other side - jz
