Rear Rotor and Sprocket Question 75 Shovel
I am working on a 1975 FXE Shovel with my Son. We need to replace the sprocket and caliper on the rear. The current sprocket has an offset that I measure from the flat surface to the edge of the tooth at around .25 inches. The sprockets I see new state that they have a .38 inch offset not sure if I am measuring wrong. Would appreciate any input.
Also I am thinking of going down from a 51 tooth to a 48 tooth to take the RPMs down on the highway any suggestions or comments?
Thanks
Hov

Chrome 48 tooth rear disc sprocket has a 9.8mm offset.
Fits:
FX 1973-1984
FL 1973-1984
chek fleabay -- 48 on the rear and you need a 22 on the tranny -- some use a 23 IMO isnt for a stock 74/80 the 22/48 with a primary chain drive works great -- if you have a belt then use the 23 or a 47 rear - its soooo much easier to change the rear sprocket than the countershaft sprocket -- i have a 79 FXE 80" belt drive primary cam, pipes, carb -- i run a 22/47 with my close ratio 3rd gear in can run at 30/35 mph on streets marked for that and on the I-10 i run 75/80 mph in 4th and its perfect
