Same setup & operation as the Dyna S just a little different looking is all . Sweet that he has compacted things to fit in a stock distributor like that .

For a bone *** stock motor theres nothing wrong with points and condinser but as Twisted said the advance unit is the key. I think Competition makes a stainless bearinged system that is forever. I always had good service out of Borg-Warner points for a sick cylinder chevy.
When you start with all new components take the time to put a light on it. Index the plate to the inside of the nosecone. After time and as the points wear, things may get out of wack. If you keep the points set as they wear you should not have problems. ONCE THE TIMING IS SET PROPERLY, LEAVE IT ALONE! If things seem bad the first thing a lot of folks do is start twisting the backplate. It's not the timing it's the components.
