I got my '76 in August 1975, traded in the Sportster in my avatar and sig pic. It started as a Liberty Edition. The first time I threw my leg over it I knew was a match made in heaven. Even in it's current rat condition, every time I have ridden it it feels like the first time all over again.

Yes it mounts the same. 1 bolt in rear and the 2 forks on front.
I got it cuz it was cheap. Been on 2 trips 1500 miles each. Did good. It has a spot that sits good, you can sit back too far and it wants to get into your back. It's been a good seat. no complaints.

Of course, the shovelhead is a dinosaur, but just ask any kid, and they'll tell you, "dinosaurs are the coolest!"

Phil you thinkin on going back to the liberty. They look good with the black met and decals. We all started with rats.
Mine sat in a horse barn for 12 years, I never knew it was a CE until 5 years later.

Naw, I guess not. I still have the old tank with the decal though, (ruined in an accident) in case I wanted to replicate it. From a distance it just looked black.
