1984 FLH -- starter does not turn

Not really. All the feeler gauge does is jump the terminal to energize the solenoid. The lever assembly eliminates the solenoid. It manually engages the bendix to activate the starter.

05rkstd or others?? Why not turn over with plugs out, and wires out of the way don't want to start the gas on fire. I have turned over many vw air-cooled and car engines with plugs out to check for compression / verify starter works without load, turn over pistons with light oil and then let set to loosen up rings. So I am unsure why you say not to do it.?? Thanks. Tom J.

Where did anyone get a solenoid that they were satisfied with? Link if possible. Part # So many solenoids???
Here is one found at Dennis Kirk's. Will it work for Shovel 84 model. Marion does this look like yours? With shaft inside solenoid?

Get on the horn and call All *****. They have one that is made in Brazil (yeah not American but definitely better than Accel or ***** ****). Have one on my 84 FLH and so far it is all good.
