Thanks! It's been a lot of work, getting too old for this!

Oh wow, we're really getting some snow today! The first we've had all season. I'll have to shift my focus to starting the snow blower now.

Wow, super nice day here yesterday. Took the day off work and actually got that bike moved to the new place, really made my day! It was a rough ride though, the bike still seems starved for fuel and I had to do a lot of throttle twisting to keep it moving. Don't think I would have made it except for I drained the tank again and put in some 110 octane racing fuel.

It took a while to drain the tank, makes me wonder if perhaps I have an obstruction in there?

Not sure id have done the race fuel but im sure the tank and lines prob need a good going through. Gas these days sucks and can eat rubber if it sits too long. Glad to hear you got her home!

New fuel line was mandatory, the old one was rotted off at both ends.

Petcock screen could easily be clogged. Pull the tank, replace the fuel valve, clean the tank, rebuild the carb. 9 years is a long time, man.

The carb was removed and taken to a pro shop for cleaning/refurb just prior to the moving of the bike so the petcock and tank are next on the list. so glad I got it moved, now I can work at my leisure (or more realistically as time allows).

Any recommendations on ways to clean out the tank?

First get a good look in there for rust and degris. If not too bad then pull the petcock aput some reg gas and let it flush but if it were me id pull the tank and run some laquer thiner through it and you get a good look at all the wiring and such under the tank. You never know if a mouse started to chew on something under there.

Thanks for the tips. I moved the tank when removing the carb and fortunately there was no damage to the wiring.
