Can you over oil the top end?
On my Shovel someone prior to me actually drilled and tapped an extra oil feed next to the factory one that feeds the top end on the case. It did have a couple copper lines, one going to the front head, one to the rear. Last time I did the top end I took them off, plugged the extra hole and just installed some stainless braided lines, one to the rear head and the crossover to the front. After that it seemed like I had a little more noise from the front rockers so last night I bent up a line from the extra feed hole on the case and routed it to the front cylinder but also left the crossover. So I have one line to the rear head, one to the front head and the crossover line still on there. Anyone see any issues with this? Guy at work I was talking to said he'd be worried about possibly sending too much oil up there, I say fooey. What do you think?

Top ends are over oiled from the factory , there's a fix I use on them to get it down to livable been around forever . The port coming out of the case and that fitting ? The actual size hole that should be in there is only .060" , you'd be amazed at how many gasket & o-ring problems along with oil pushing past the valve guides suddenly goes away . I solder a plug in the bottom fitting and drill it simple as that , do a little net digging I'm sure it's in print still floating around .
You hearing a bit more noise up front just means it wasn't flooded as usual , worse case rocker arm bushing are a bit loose . It's a shovel they may be .
