Default new shovel owner

Hello, I've been reading this forum for a while now. My uncle passed away several months ago and left behind this 1984 fxwg. It was running when he got sick, but has sat in the garage for about two years now. I picked it up today.

84 is a great year for the Shovelhead.
I had an 84. Not a W/G but an FX.

Yours is a beauty.

#1, get ya a manual.

#2, set aside some time, tools, and money and dig in.

#3, use the talent on this forum and a few others to ask questions and get yourself in the wind. Nothing is better than knowing you turned every bolt on your bike (wherever possible in terms of your skills and time).

#4, don't be afraid to ask questions as stated in #3!

Nice looking shovel. Be sure to clean out your oil tank. You're probably going to have some sludge in there from setting a couple of years. I clean mine out without taking the tank off like the manual says.
