Default battery question

Hi Folks, I have a 1975 FXE that someone has put quite a bit of FLH parts on. The battery in this thing is huge 5"W 8"L 6 1/2"H. It's time to replace it and I am wondering if that is the proper size. The battery cover actually rubs the back of my thigh. How do I identify the proper size battery and tray. Does anyone have the measurement maybe even a part number? Thanks for any help.

Check these guys out , Their ThunderVolt AGM series battery is great and it's under $80 part number 1-141

OEM number is YHD-12 8-1/2"L x 5-1/4"W x 6-1/2"T this is the big FLH battery , the FX was a lot smaller .

Hilti... I put the battery mentioned by Twizted on my 65 pan almost 18 months ago. Best thing I ever did. Sealed, EXACT same dimensions, fits like a glove and NO battery acid leaks. Don't use a battery tender and has always started first time every time.

Get a battery carrier from a FXE, it'll mount in the same position as your current FLH carrier. Than you can use a much smaller and more powerful H-D AGM battery.

Yep, FX and FLH frames were the same back then and the parts interchange. Weird that the guy was trying to build an FL out of an FX. It's usually the other way around!
