run a mikuni on a shovel? if so, how did you like it over a S&S?

I will end up running straight drag pipes and I like to run a little rich on the jetting w S&S carbs but not sure what to do w a Mikuni.

Buddy who builds loves mikuni's, says S&S are "truck carbs" compared to mikuni's...and no...I have no experience with tuning a mikuni.

 

I had a Mikuni on my '76. For some reason I think they were stock that year. Anyway, did an engine rebuild , remember taking the carb and laying it on a shelf. After build, reinstalled; never a problem.
Buds of mine, riding Pans or Pans with shovel heads ran SS carbs. Don't know if they ran any better, but tha SS air cleaner looked good.
