I am looking at a 3" front pulley on ebay, Will a pulley for a 86 evo fit a 79 shovel sprocket shaft? I have a 47 tooth and the evo has a 48.

I take it your talking about a motor pulley for a primary drive ? If so the motor spline is the same just make sure you have enough room to move the tranny forward a hair to get the belt tension right . You may have to groove the the top cover edge on trans a bit to clear the frame down tube moving it forward .
