Default Spot Lamps on on "High Beam"

Guys - I have recently acquired a 1972 FLH, and have been cleaning it up, etc. I noticed that the spot lamps only work with the hesadlamp on "high" which is opposite what my 2006 is. Is this how they were wired back then?

I think my 72 was wired the same way. The wiring diagram doesn't show the passing lamps. If you want them on with the lows, splice them into the yellow wire instead of the white. You could also wire them so they are independent of the headlights.

I talked to 2 different old mechanics and they said back then they were wired to go on the "high", not low. I don't want to change it, just was interested as it is different then my bike now. Thanks for the reply!
