Super b pop's / thru pipe's ??

Default Super b pop's / thru pipe's ??

I have a 1978 80 inch shovel head ,and i'm runing an S&S Super B and it pop's thru the pipe's while i'm riding ?? some times it double pop's "pop,pop" and other times it just pop's a single time ?? it damm near act's like it cough's ?? any ideas ?? please help !!

P.S. it's running the stock factory electronic ignition !!

Sounds to me like a lean pop,are you running drag pipes or some that have very little baffels?

Pull your plugs and take a look at them for the color. That should give you an indication. Does it pop at high speed, when you give it the gas, or low speed. Running lean will generally pop thru the carb and rich in the exhaust. You know what S&S stands for, spit and sputter.

All the above you should check plus a leaky manifold. How old are the rubber o-rings?

Thanks guy's : I'm thinking about the "O" rings my self ,the plugs are BLACK, so it's looking like it's running Rich ?? what i'm thinking is just redo the carb and O rings ,adjust the timing and check the valve adjustment and then see where i'm at ,and at that point i'd know what i have there at least !! ??
and then we'll see what we see ??
