Just bought my first shovel - 1983 FXDG
I've been looking for a nice shovel to add to my collection and after looking at many, I finally found the right one yesterday and bought it sight unseen. As it turns out...a good friend of mine who's a veteran wrench knows the bike and it's former owner who recently passed in a bike wreck. This owner has reportedly owned the bike since new and there is a complete folder of documents since new.
The bike in question is an 83 FXDG which is better known as the Willie G model. It's an all original all correct bike with 24,424 miles on it. It came out of storage yeterday and I am driving to go pick it up today. Looking forward to getting it home, changing the gas and fluids, and firing it up.

Got the bike home yesterday and it is as nice as it was expected to be. It's been sitting for 10 years since it was last run and all the fluids were drained before being stored. We're gonna go through it and add a new battery, fluids and fuel before starting it up, and will also check the primary belt to see what kind of shape it's in. I'll post some pictures later tonight when time permits.
Pretty cool bike this is, and looking forward to taking it for a scoot sometime soon.
