Default Last 1984>First 1985 Shovelheads

I have an '84 FLHS Shovel with the VIN ending in EY067835, built Tuesday June 5, 1984. There was an '85 FLHP Shovel for sale on ebay with the VIN ending in FY010378 built Thursday June 7, 1984. These production dates I received from HD over the phone. They were not able to tell me when exactly the last 1984s were built. Is there anyone who might know something about this, and maybe have a very late '84 Shovel with a VIN higher than my FLHS?

I've heard of about 1500? 1985 Shovels were built for Canadians police?

Hmmmm.
As a matter of fact (as opposed to fiction) I, Skip, am the owner, though I MUCH prefer to say caretaker, of the last PRODUCTION Shovelhead. I cannot over emphesize that word "production".
Ya'see, Harley doesn't count the contract machines as part of their "production". And yes, Harley DID produce machines.. er, pardon me, Shovelheads, in 1985; these being contract bikes for Mass. and (I think) New Hampshire for contracts signed in '84.
Proofs....hmmmm.
Granted, my tag alone doesn't constitute proof, except to the blind, nor I think, my handle on this site (self-explanatory).
There is however, a photograph of several Harley execs. (including Willie the Renowned)
gathered around a 1984 FXWG .."061625" so stated in the caption. Caption also states it went to Canada. Oh yes, caption also states "...last of the shovelheads..."
My baby!
Also, I possess complete traceability on the transfers.. I'm the second owner..er, caretaker.
Cosmic debris note: In the year 1984 I had taken a leave from school (Embry-Riddle); the whole year; and had found myself acting as the Mgr. for H-D of Sarasota, Fla..
Whadda' think but one fine late spring day whilst undoin' the daily staka' letters, I opened an official communication from THE COMPANY and low-n-behold there she was;
the last one. I was pissed off to read that but then I got to the last line and read she was being sent to Canada...I SCREAMED!
And then I SCREAMED some more
And all the rest of the day to.
That was in 84.
Roll ahead to 2004..May..Lookin' for a Shovelhead. Hadd'en even sat onna' bike in 12 years. Walked into Richard Barns' operation uppin Ocala.
Bought on sight 061625...hell I already knowed the story of it but ol' Richard told me about her without any prompting from me.
How about that...20 years to the month. From the first time I saw'er till I rode'er!

Golly, Harley sure did make a lot of UNPRODUCTION 1984s with VINs higher than 061625! Would mine constitute an '84 and half then? Check this beauty out on ebay.

WOW! There seems to be a lot of unPRODUCTION late 1984 Shovels out there! Could it be they sneaked in a few more production Shovels after the Willie G FXWG was built? Look at this wanna be '84 on ebay!
