pococj,
If it's really worth it, I'll get those parts silver plated. Does one just take it to a jeweler to have them done? I was thinking of talking to one of the electricians at work and asking about where it could be done. Some sort of industrial plater? Was it pure silver or an alloy? It shouldn't cost too much.

I don't know what it would cost. Did see a kit that was used to plate contacts at a power plant, but I know the kit was expensive. Try the electrician; he might know of the kit. If you have to pay too much for it, it isn't really worth it.

Rodney,
That switch of yours is from V Twin, right? Like I told you I had been knocking around the idea of building something like that at one time. If I ever do...I'm sure it would make Fred Flintstone proud!!
Later guys.
cj_slowdown,
Keep the info coming. I am very interested in the outcome of this problem.
Hi Guys,
been a busy summer for me and haven't had a lot of extra time to visit and when I did the forum was acting up... hopefully all is fixed!
Yes the starter switch is a V twin item that so far I am very pleased with.
I'll see you around and let you know what I've been up to.... it has some thing to do with an old shovel head Chopper!!!

Rodney,

Well I am half way there, I do have half the set-up, the starter relay switch from Blue Streak, all I need is the other half, where from ?
remember when Blue Streak was made in the USA ? it's sad : - (

BTW- as long as my Primary cover was off (changing primary gasket, I said what the hell should change out the thrust washer, was getting a little beat, the marks wasn't too bad, but as long as the cover is off why not !
attached is a pic of both washers old one on top of the bill !!!!
I think with what money I have left, I am going to by copper and brass stocks !!!!

later

V Twin is where I order the starter switch and it comes with an instruction page explaining how to wire and adjust if needed.
you will also need to wire a bosh type relay before the larger relay.
wow that seems like a lot of $$ for one washer!

The stealership struck again. They charged you for an entire package of Washers and gave you one. They come in packages of 5 or 10 and that is retail for the whole package. Hell even JP only gets 3.99 for it and they are high. I'd go back and bitch. Sometimes they get a rookie behind the counter that can't divide.
