Avon Gangster MT90H16 71H
I have a Avon Gangster MT90H16 71H whitewall front tire and I want to buy the same tire for the rear. Problem is, I can only find a Avon Gangster MT90H16 74H. What is the difference between the two tires, and is it ok to use a 71H on the front and a 74H on the back?

My bike was fitted with Avon Venom whitewalls when I got it and both are labeled as MT90 B16 74H but they are also labeled as Front or Back so although the labeled number is the same there is a difference between front and back.
From what I can see from a quick look the main difference is that there is a center groove on the front tire but no center groove on the back.
Not sure what the difference id for the 71H.
Hope this helps.
Mark.

well, I haven't heard back from Avon yet. But I did go ahead and order one of these

hopefully I won't have any problems. From what I can gather, the 71 or 74 is the weight capacity and the H is the speed rating. So using a 71H and a 74H together SHOULD be ok unless I surpass the 71 in weight. I weigh in at about 228, so hopefully I'm ok, hehe. I'll have to lay off the Mexican food maybe.
