Flathead Engine to Shovelhead Frame
Hello All,
I have a question/concern. \\;\\\\\\; I have a 1938 UL engine that I want to mount on my 1983 Shovelhead frame. What adjustment if any do I need to make to the bottom and/or top motormounts? \\;\\\\\\; This is my next project and I mentally gearing myself for the fun I'm going to endure. \\;\\\\\\; LOL. \\;\\\\\\; All information is greatly appreciated. \\; I've also posted this in the Flathead section.
Thanks \\;\\\\\\;

RE: Flathead Engine to Shovelhead Frame
The motor should bolt right in with very little problems. \\; Bolt the rear down first. \\; If you then have a gap at the front motor mount make shims to fill the gap out of thin metal or washers if it is large enough. \\; Do not just try to tighten it down without the shims or you will break the front mounts. \\; I don't see a problem with the top mount but if there is it should be a minor adjustment. \\; Good luck and keep us posted with your progress.
